ABOUT THE SUBJECT:
Tom Kehoe, from Knockananna, was prominent in the War of Independence and the Civil War. He was killed in action in Cork in September 1922, weeks before his 24th birthday.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Christopher Power, a native of north county Wexford, has written a number of local histories on a variety of subjects. He has a keen interest in history and literature in general. Additionally, as part of his role in Carlow Library, he has written a number of books including a biography about Tom Kehoe, commemorating the Decade of Centenary in this part of Leinster. Christopher has recently completed a book on the Carlow Sugar Industry, a study of post-revolutionary Ireland. He works in Carlow Local Studies in the area of local history for Carlow county. He is also secretary for the Parnell Society.
