The Courthouse Arts Centre is delighted to host this Creative Ireland event for children, with mask-making, storytelling and a special performance of The Magic Bookshop by Monkeyshine Theatre.

Peter and John work at the new arrivals desk. Great heaps of books have to be sorted and categorised and sometimes sent to the dreaded shredder. The two friends do their very best to make sure every books gets a new life and that none of the magic is lost. Step inside this unusual shop, swap a book and maybe even take a little of the magic home with you.

Following on from the success of their recently launched LEGENDS of WICKLOW Series the Createschool team are back with BrickFlicks for stop motion making mayhem.
This week long workshop will focus on Myths and Legends, so come along and learn how to make an awesome set, write a great short story, fine tune your animation skills and then film the results.
Bring along your favourite mini figure too and they can be one of the stars.

This workshop is Ideal for those who are new to the world of stop motion or you and for those looking to refresh their skills and want to take their own films to the next level.
All equipment and materials are supplied but remember to please bring along your own favourite mini figure as they may be lonely at home.
Teen Fashion Camp
Teen Upcycling Fashion Camp Week 1
Dates: Monday July 16th – Friday 20th .
Fee: €60 per child/Concession rate fof €100 for 2 children. 12years+
Pick up new skills and unleash your creativity
Students develop basic fashion sketching, sewing, dyeing and printing skills while working with a variety of fabrics and other materials.
Great opportunity to experiment with new techniques, build confidence, acquire new skills and be inspired to learn more in summer holidays
Spend the week learning the process of upcycle fashion design, from envisioning, to selecting materials, to putting it all together and showing it off! Leave with your fully designed garments and new upcycling skills! Everyone will create their own upcycled garments which is an expression of themselves, and show it off to their friends and families with a small fashion show on the last day
Gather inspiration from nature, magazines, and the materials themselves, then talk about where ideas come from and what we want to express. Spend time drawing, playing with and choosing the materials, then start on a sewing project to get familiar with sewing machines and hand sewing. Spend the rest of the time bringing your upcycle designs to life!

10 – 11.30am Age Group 7 – 9 yrs. Drawing, painting, and 3 dimensional art-making will be explored through projects that really appeal to young people. Cost €45 – 5 weeks or drop in rate €10
12-1:30pm Age Group 10-12 yrs. This class will concentrate on techniques using pencil, coloured pencil and pastel. For young artists who enjoy drawing and want to improve skills. Cost €45 – 5 weeks or drop in €10
